Stewards of SQuIRE (Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence)
The Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS) is a joint partnership between the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine and three of its major teaching hospitals: the Hospital for Sick Children (Sickkids), Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Women's College Hospital. CQuIPS seeks to accelerate and deepen the work of people and organizations that are passionate about improving quality and patient safety. CQuIPS is an international leader in quality improvement (QI) research and a world-class hub for QI teaching and learning with a deep network of over 1,500 members and alumni that work within Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN) institutions and beyond. Since 2020, CQuIPS researchers have received more than $40M in peer-reviewed grants and published and published over 300 articles in high-impact journals. In 2023, CQuIPS assumed oversight of the SQUIRE international QI writing guidelines, making it the standard bearer for QI globally.
